Local Ethical Considerations (Indonesia)

Protection of Indigenous and Local Knowledge

Studies involving indigenous knowledge, local practices, or community-based innovations in education technology must ensure proper acknowledgment, informed consent, and protection of community rights, including fair benefit-sharing where applicable.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

The Chief Editor of Journal of Learning Technology and Innovation (JOLTI) is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts are accepted for publication. Decisions are based on the manuscript’s scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Editors adhere to legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism, and may consult with editorial board members or reviewers as needed.

Fairness

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.

Duties of Reviewers

Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot complete the review within the agreed timeframe must notify the editor promptly and withdraw from the review process.

Objectivity

Acknowledgment of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of all sources that have influenced the research is mandatory.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate fully in correcting or retracting the article.
