Author Guidelines
Journal of Early Childhood Education Perspectives (JECEP) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that provides a forum for researchers, teacher educators, policymakers, and practitioners to explore critical, interdisciplinary, and contextual perspectives in early childhood education (birth–8 years). The journal publishes empirical, theoretical, and practice-based studies that examine child development, learning processes, and early childhood psychology within educational contexts. JECEP emphasizes research that integrates psychological foundations with pedagogical practice.
Title
The title should consist of 8–15 words (preferred) and clearly reflect the focus, purpose, and novelty of the research. However, the title may extend up to 20 words if necessary to ensure clarity, specificity, and academic precision, particularly for complex or interdisciplinary studies.
Author(s) Name
All authors’ names must be written in full without academic degrees or titles. The order of authorship should reflect each author's contribution to the research and publication process.
Affiliation
Each author’s affiliation must be clearly stated, including the study program, faculty, university, and country. This information ensures transparency, institutional recognition, and academic credibility.
Abstract
The abstract must be written in a single paragraph consisting of 150–200 words. It should concisely describe the research problem, objectives, methodology, and main findings, followed by a clear conclusion aligned with the study. Keywords (3–5 words) must be included, arranged alphabetically, and written in italic format.
Introduction
The introduction provides the background of the study by presenting the research context, identifying significant problems, and highlighting gaps in previous studies. It should integrate recent and relevant literature to demonstrate the state of the art while clearly articulating the novelty and objectives of the research. The section is expected to guide readers from general issues to specific research focus in a coherent and scholarly manner.
Methodology
This section explains the research design, approach, participants, data collection techniques, research instruments, and data analysis procedures. The description must be clear, systematic, and sufficiently detailed to allow replication. Authors should justify the methodological choices and ensure that the procedures reflect research validity and reliability.
Results and Discussion
This section presents the research findings and their interpretation in an integrated and analytical manner. The results should be clearly described, supported by tables or figures where necessary, and directly related to the research questions. The discussion must interpret the findings critically by linking them to relevant theories and previous studies, highlighting the novelty, implications, and contributions of the research to the field of early childhood education.
Figure and Table
All tables and figures must be clearly presented, properly labeled, and explicitly referenced in the text. Table captions should be placed above the tables, while figure captions should be placed below the figures. The use of visual elements should enhance clarity and support the presentation of research findings.
Citations and References
All citations must follow the APA 7th edition style and should be presented using paraphrasing (indirect citation). Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure accuracy and consistency in citation and referencing.
Conclusion
The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the study and reflects how they address the research objectives. It should provide a concise synthesis of the results and discussion, highlight the contribution of the study, and may include recommendations for future research.
Acknowledgments
This section should acknowledge individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that contributed to the research. The acknowledgment must be written concisely and professionally.
References
The reference list must include a minimum of 30 references, primarily from recent journal articles (within the last 10 years), and should include DOIs where available. All references must follow the APA 7th edition style and correspond accurately to the in-text citations.
Manuscript Length
The manuscript should be between 3,000–6,000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures. All submissions must follow the official JECEP template, use single spacing, and maintain consistency in formatting throughout the manuscript.
