REVIEW PROCESS

The peer review process in JOVETE (Journal of Vocational Education and Technical Engineering) serves as a quality assurance mechanism to ensure that all manuscripts published meet high academic, scientific, and ethical standards. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a comprehensive and structured evaluation prior to publication.

Key Stages in the Peer Review Process

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, academic quality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these basic requirements may be returned to the authors without external peer review.

2. Double-Blind Review

JOVETE applies a double-blind peer review system, in which:

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.

  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

This process ensures objectivity, fairness, and unbiased assessment.

3. Review by Independent Experts

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers provide detailed written evaluations and recommendations regarding the manuscript’s quality, originality, methodology, and contribution to the field.

4. Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Major revisions required

  • Reject

5. Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Board. While reviewers’ recommendations are carefully considered, the editorial team retains full authority to make decisions in accordance with the journal’s standards and scope.

6. Revision and Re-review

If revisions are required, authors are asked to revise and resubmit their manuscripts within a specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation before a final decision is made.

This peer review process ensures that all articles published in JOVETE (Journal of Vocational Education and Technical Engineering) uphold academic integrity and contribute meaningfully to the fields of vocational education and applied engineering.
