PLAGIARISM POLICY

Plagiarism Policy

JOVETE (Journal of Vocational Education and Technical Engineering), published by the Lia Center of Research and Education (Lia CORE), maintains a strict policy against plagiarism. Any form of plagiarism is considered a serious violation of academic and publication ethics. This policy outlines the definition of plagiarism, screening procedures, and actions taken when plagiarism is identified in submitted manuscripts.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the act—whether intentional or unintentional—of presenting another person’s work, ideas, data, or expressions, in part or in whole, as one’s own without proper acknowledgment of the original source. This includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, close paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, or improper citation practices.

Editorial Principles

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • All sources of referenced or borrowed material must be clearly identified and properly cited.

  • All authors are jointly responsible for the originality and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

  • If plagiarism is detected, all authors listed in the manuscript will be held accountable.

Plagiarism Screening

Submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin or other comparable plagiarism detection software prior to the peer-review process.

Levels of Plagiarism and Editorial Actions

Level Description Editorial Action
Minor Plagiarism Plagiarism involving a small portion of content without proper citation. Formal warning and mandatory revision with proper citation.
Major Plagiarism Substantial copying of content from other sources without appropriate acknowledgment. Immediate rejection and potential prohibition from future submissions.
Simultaneous Submission Submission of the same manuscript to JOVETE and another journal at the same time. Immediate rejection and sanctions equivalent to major plagiarism.

Editorial Discretion

For cases not explicitly covered in this policy, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board reserve the right to determine appropriate actions based on the severity, intent, and context of the ethical violation.

This policy is established to safeguard academic integrity and to maintain the quality and credibility of all articles published in JOVETE (Journal of Vocational Education and Technical Engineering).
