Fractal: Journal Insights in Mathematics Education and Assessment is a scholarly journal that publishes empirical research and theoretical studies in mathematics education and mathematics learning assessment. The journal provides a forum for articles that highlight instructional innovation, teaching quality, instrument development and validation, and the analysis of assessment data to improve mathematics learning and student achievement.

Its scope includes, but is not limited to, mathematical literacy and numeracy, higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), problem solving, critical and creative thinking, mathematical modelling, technology-enhanced learning, ethnomathematics, didactical design, program evaluation, and measurement and evaluation using Rasch/IRT, SEM, as well as qualitative analysis. The journal welcomes a wide range of research designs, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, experimental studies, R&D, design-based research, case studies, and meta-analyses.

Its goal is to provide actionable research insights for researchers, lecturers, teachers, and policymakers, particularly to strengthen instructional practice and evidence-based assessment decisions.
